Jabber and its varients
I used to have several jabber accounts on different servers. Because the aussie server was so unstable, I'm now only connected to two networks: Jabber.org: Kamping_Kaiser Gmail.com: goetz.karl
IRC (Internet relay chat)
I'm almost always connected to OFTC and Freenode, so they are your best bet when trying to reach me (Leave a message, I'll get back to you if i'm AFK_) Nicknames to look for are Kamping_Kaiser, kgoetz and Bambi_BOFH ; depending on how stable the network has been lately.
